Is philosophy a game played by fools or the thoughts of fools played by a gamer?

philosophy is an unending game of scrabble played by the illiterate...Is philosophy a game played by fools or the thoughts of fools played by a gamer?I'm not sure, allow me to go back in time about 3000 years and ask the ancient philosophers whether or not they were being foolish. Is philosophy a game played by fools or the thoughts of fools played by a gamer?
Plato, Aristotle, Epictetus, Nietzsche, Descartes were no fools. This is a foolish question tho.Is philosophy a game played by fools or the thoughts of fools played by a gamer?Nec quicquam aliud est philosophia, si interpretari velis, praeter studium sapientiae; sapientia autem est rerum divinarum et humanarum causarumque quibus eae res continentur scientia...Cicero.

Or like you said, a game played by fools. Only true fools can really play this game; the true fool knows nothing except the fact that he's a fool, and he loves it!0!

Good luck!
philosophy was created by people who had no talent to actually accomplish anything. so they could sit around and try to impress people so they would feel relevant. Is philosophy a game played by fools or the thoughts of fools played by a gamer?Your question is a Philosophers paradise. Yes, maybe, no. Hold on a sec. A game? No. Or is it?

Doubt it, there are no rules - except logic and no winner - except logic and no answers - except logic. And with that amount of logic your question becomes ludicrous, because there are no fools! Before or after the thoughts! In any case non that you will notice - but we could bring in the clowns, but they have to adhere to the logic, or rules, or questions and/or the answers.

Released by virtue of a gamer! or player! or user! or abuser!

Peace. Is philosophy a game played by fools or the thoughts of fools played by a gamer?
Neither, Ross. You present a false dichotomy.
Ross;

Everything is a game. To win, we must act, AS IF.Is philosophy a game played by fools or the thoughts of fools played by a gamer?
A game for fools,

An armour of wisemen,

Who can play it fair with the gamer,

and with the fools games..
Shouldn't your question be posed as "... or the thoughts of fools played by gamers"

Or, "...the thoughts of a fool played by a gamer".

I'm not certain "Gamer" is even a proper word or if it is simply a colloquialism.

Regardless, why can't the answer be: A little bit of each.

Perhaps it can not be both because "The thoughts of fools" isn't actually a game, and if it were, and one were playing it ~ the only way for said person to be exempt from being a fool themselves would be to pretend the thoughts were actually his or hers.

It would have to be a game of mockery. Once the gamer actually had foolish thoughts himself he would no longer be playing a game, so much as participating in foolish thoughts.

Foolish thoughts themselves can not be a game if the thoughts are being taking seriously by that of the thinker.

One could say something foolish and know it was foolish and make it as if it were a game. Yet, the moment they become ignorant of their own foolishness, it would cease to be a game and simply become a mistake.

I'm almost positive that not one person reading this will have understood my answer in relation to the posed question.

If I'm correct in that assumption then I've won my own personal game. In order to win it I simply have to be more insightful and intelligent than the people around me.

Hmm...
Neither. It's only a game to those who are too stupid to understand what philosophy is about.
Everything can be thought of as a game. Therefore, philosophy may be a game and, given that every person would have to play a game, everyone (including fools) are gamers in this sense. But the purported foolishness of those who play philosophy and those who are played is a value-judgment. You need to argue for it. If you want to play the game of philosophy, you need to follow the rules.
Philosophy would be the thoughts of fools played by a gamer. That's if you think Philosophy foolish. But a fool has no wisdom.
Think about whether you'd preferred living under FDR or Joseph Stalin? Since you're too young to know from experience, your answer will be philosophical. Can you handle that? See? It's not so bad.
Philosophy is not a game and philosophers are not gamers!
