The main game I want to play is Starcraft 2. I want a desktop computer that can run starcraft 2 on ultra graphics setting with no lag or anything. Whats a really good desktop to buy?Because SC2 is CPU limited, one can't have too much CPU power. Intel processors are fastest. With a $800 price target, the CPU you want is the Sandy Bridge Core i5-2500.



Similarly, Radeon cards are now, finally, as fast as GeForce cards running SC2, but, like always, ATI/AMD are constantly playing catch-up, in terms of sorting out problems with their Catalyst drivers. So, to avoid the whole hassle (i.e. crap Radeon drivers), just stick with a GeForce video card, for more consistent results.

Good luck on ultra, The only way I can see that is by building your own computer. I recommend an Intel i5 processor, but the most important thing is the graphics card. I would Highly recommend an Nvidia ASUS Geforce GTX470 PCI-E 2.0 1280 MB DDR5 Graphics Card. Make sure you also have a strong enough graphics card. Remember, I didn't look at the prices for these and I doubt you will be able to get these and all the little details for under $800.
