What game console would you recomend for a casual gamer that doesnt play a lot of games?

The PS3 AND XBOX360 are out of the question because they both cost more than $300 (unless you cheap-out on the XBOX and get it without a hard-drive).



The PS3 and XBOX360 both use standard controllers that are (almost) the same from the previous generation. They appeal to fanboys, and to more hard-core gamers that just want to pick up a controller and play.



Meanwhile, the Wii uses motion sensors to make you feel almost like you're in the game. Because of this amazing feature, there are many games that appeal to casual gamers and non-gamers (as well as Nintendo fan-boys and people with low budgets). Instead of games like Final Fantasy (PS3) and Halo (360), there are games like Wii Sports and Wii Play. As well as other classics like Mario and Metroid. Soon there is even going to be a Wii Fit game so you can exercise using your Wii (like you dont anyways lol).



So, based on your description, you should select the Nintendo Wii as the game console for you. Priced at $250 - $300, it works with your budget too. One thing, though, it's sometimes hard to find because of it's popularity. Even so, you should still try to find one, because the PS3 and the 360 don't seem like something you would enjoy as much.



Despite what I said, I'm a Sony Fan-Boy and I prefer the PS3 to the other system. Mainly because I'm a hard-core gamer that wants to just sit-down and play, and not have to swing controllers around.



P.S. If you don't want the Nintendo Wii, and you want a normal controller system, get a PlayStation 2. It has a wide variety of games, including many classics like Rachet %26amp; Clank, Final Fantasy, Dark Cloud 2, Jak and Daxter and Kingdom Hearts. It's games can be found very cheap ($15 or less), not to mention the good price of a brand-new console ($120). An added bonus, there are still new PS2 games coming out, unlike the GameCube and XBOX.

Don't get a console, if you don't play games much then just use your PC for gaming. Why waste 300 on a system and then $35 - $50 per game? Gaming with a console isn't as cheap as it used to be and if you aren't gonna make a significant cash commitment then you might as well use your PC.



However if your really want a console I would go for the PS2, it has tonnes of games and the console even brand new is cheap. The Wii and the Xbox 360 both have some pretty hardcore gamer stuff included like being able to link up with the web and play a game with people from all over the world. If you wanna keep it low key, the Gamecube is the way to go. It's also really cheap too. I've got one for sale and it's not even $100.
