What is the differences between hard core gamer and causal gamer?

Typically if someone is known as a hardcore gamer, they like to play a large assortment of games, for long periods of time. They also find joy in playing people online and often are successful because they play so often. On the other hand, casual gamers are those who like to play certain games, not nearly as often, and play for fun rather then competition.
