Can I switch my Xbox Live Status to another gamer tag?

Me being the stupid one, I joined Xbox Live without signing in to my profile with all the achievements! So now I have a non Live profile with all my game data and achievements and a Live profile with NOTHING lol. I tried calling Xbox about that one time because I had an issue with my account. I signed up with a new Live ID before asking if I could kill the new profile and transfer all the time to the old profile. They told me "no" since I had already redeemed my card on the new profile. Well, I would have about 36,000 achievement pts but I only have 15,000 now. Oh well, keep on playing
