I have a asus pk5 premium mother board with on board sound i want to put a creative extreme gamer card in,have i got to disable the on board sound if so how do you do it ,do i just uninstall the driver and software or have i got to do something else?Have i got to disable on board sound when i put my extreme gamer card in?You can normally specify within Windows control panel which device you use for sound.

I've got a 7.1 built in sound card and also a set of headphones (USB) with built in DSP - its simple in the control panel to select the sound settings and pull down the option boxes for your preferred recording and playback devices.Have i got to disable on board sound when i put my extreme gamer card in?You can disable shizzle that is integrated on the device manager.

Right click on "my computer" %26gt; Click "properties" and depending wether your on Vista or Xp, but basically you should be able to find device manager quiet easily from there, in XP its on another tab %26amp; on vista its on the menu.

Then you will see every "device" connected with your PC, and all i know in vista that your sound card is under the "sound, video %26amp; game controllers" title. Then right click on your sound chip and press disable...and your done!

Cheers,

Shed
