Whats the difference between a gamer mouse and a normal optical mouse?

i noe the price is different, what is the main difference?Whats the difference between a gamer mouse and a normal optical mouse?Aside from great quality, the main difference is the DPI or Dots Per Inch between gaming mice and regular optical mice. DPI means the number of pixels the cursor moves on the screen for every inch the mouse moves on the table. The more sensitive and precise the mouse movement, the better for gaming, where split second response and timing means the difference between winning and losing. In addition there is Inches per Second, meaning the speed at which the mouse can move before it loses track of its place. The high IPS is another reason why gaming mice can quick movements. Other differences include ergonomics, where the gaming mouse is created to fit more comfortably to your hand than a regular mouse. This is important when you spend lots of time gaming and you need the mouse to feel like an extension of your hand. Yes there are definitely a lot more buttons for mapping shortcuts, macros and functionality. In addition some gaming mice offer weights which you can slip into the mouse to give it a custom weighted feel. Weight is very important in many games. For example a person who snipes or shoots in a game would want a mouse that is slightly heavier and more stable than one that is lighter and jerkier. Lots of mice also have onboard memory for saving profiles and special settings for each application. Polling is another unique feature of gaming mice and the operating system. An operating system needs to know when the mouse is moving in order to interpret the movements. It does this by polling the mouse for input. In games the polling rate is even higher.

Lastly nearly all gaming mice use optical grade laser. Using the old ball mouse is probably the worst thing you can do for your game.Whats the difference between a gamer mouse and a normal optical mouse?Gaming mouse usually have more buttons and functionality.
