Lotus is awesome. I don't have one (yet), but I have a friend who bought a gaming machine from them a few weeks ago and he loves it. He told me he ordered it by emailing them with that custom PC form I linked above. I already got a quote for myself because I plan to get a PC from them soon (a really nice gaming machine around $1500), and I can say those guys are really great. They have some cheap PCs (the Element starts at $400) so I'm sure they can build you something really good for about $1000.

Oh and for the xbox on your monitor thing... I'm not sure, but if the XBOX has DVI connectivity and your monitor also has DVI, it should be fine. DVI cables are expensive, though... at least like $30. If the XBOX does HDMI, you might have to find an adaptor or something... sorry I can't offer much help on that end.Im a hardcore gamer and im looking for a great PC that i can play games on. What should i get?as far as I know, pc HDMI monitors don't allow the sound to come through the likes of a pc or xbox360. so you might just get the picture.

You might be looking at a small hdtv or something for it to get the soudn and video..

I would get a dell xps if you want to stay below 1000, over 1000 they have dedicated gaming pcs. check what graphics card is in it? make sure it's dedicated and not integrated graphics. 4 gb of ram. core2duo and min 512mb of video ram.... should be enough.Im a hardcore gamer and im looking for a great PC that i can play games on. Do some research on the web and learn to build your own!

It's cheaper and much more satisfying than handing a wad of cash over to Dell or HP or any of the other company's that rip you off selling you cheap hardware at an extreme markup.

My pc is the equivalent to a Dell XPS or Alienware at half the price.Im a hardcore gamer and im looking for a great PC that i can play games on. What should i get? These are the best I could find for under $1000.

A note on processors:

Some of these are quad cores, some of these aren't. Don't let people tell you that you need quad cores for gaming; most games don't utilize quad cores. Quad cores help with general PC performance, but often dual cores outperform them in gaming. Keep that in mind when choosing between what I've listed or what anyone else lists. You should note that games in the future will make greater use of quads, so if you're more interested in something currently in development rather than a game already out, quad cores may be the better choice for you, but also understand that a quad core processor costs more than a dual core, so if you're spending $50 more on a CPU you're spending $50 less on Ram/a Videocard, etc. Anyway, on to my picks:

Notes:

Just because something is a 5 or a 6 don't assume it's bad. I've only rated gaming-class machines/hardware. The 9600GT (which I gave a 5) is better than 95% of videocards out there.Im a hardcore gamer and im looking for a great PC that i can play games on. What should i get?
Get a Dell XPS, its ideal for gaming (search Dell XPS on google, theres all different versions but find the one that is best/cheapest for you)
Get a life. Its free, easy to use and extremely versatile.
