For a gift to a gamer - is XBox special edition worth it compared to Elite? Or, use an external hard drive?

Besides cost, what does the difference between memory storage between the special edition Xbox (250 GB) and the other Elite Xbox (120 GB) mean when you play either online or saved games.

Do external hard drives work with Xbox's too?For a gift to a gamer - is XBox special edition worth it compared to Elite? Or, use an external hard drive? My friend bought the new MW2 Console with 250 gb hard drive, and I told him not to and he claimed he liked to "Download Stuff", and it wasn't my money so I just gave up arguing. He got it the day it came out and complained about Microsoft already using up 20gb of the 250gb making it only 230gb. Then he went and installed ALL his games, which only took up 60 gb, and now he has 170gb he doesn't know what to do with. Oh, and then he couldn't get BF 1943 and COD WaW Map Packs because he wasted $100 on a special 250gb console, he should have just gotten the 60gb (or now they only sell 120gb) and saved that money for games. I use a 20 gb hard drive and still have 10gb left and played Xbox 360 for a year now. EPIC FAIL for my friend. For a gift to a gamer - is XBox special edition worth it compared to Elite? Or, use an external hard drive?Just get the Elite. You will never use 250gb of HD space on a console gaming system. For a gift to a gamer - is XBox special edition worth it compared to Elite? Or, use an external hard drive?Get the 250gb one since external hard drives dont work with xobxs
