Ok heres my situation i halve a gamer-tag on my buddies X box but I'm getting my own soon and i want to move my gamer-tag of his on to mine if i canHow to move gamer tag from one hard drive to another if posible?When you buy your own xbox, connect it to the internet and start it up. When you press the Xbox guide button, you will see a selection called "recover gamertag". Press that and then go through the steps. They are going to ask your Windows Live email, and password so make sure that you know that. After that everything will be done, and you gamertag will now be back on your xbox, and your friend will not be able to use it anymore.How to move gamer tag from one hard drive to another if posible?First when you get your Xbox360 connect it to the internet then press the Xbox logo on the controller. After that go down to "Recover Gamertag". Then exit the session when it prompts you to, enter your Gamertag as it says to, go to the next screen, enter your e-mail address and password that you used to create the Xbox Live Gamertag and accept the Terms and Conditions (i think that's what its called), and wait for your account to be recovered.



P.S. You can recover your Gamertag as many times as you want so if you go to your friends house you don't need to bring your hard drive you can just recover it there and then recover it again at your house.

i don't remember exactly where you have to go on the dashboard but you need to "recover your gamertag" as long as you remember the email and password for you gamertag you will be able to recover it to your harddrive.
