I am currently on a campaign for self-improvement. A lot of aspects are involved. One thing I am upset about is that it seems that no matter how hard I try, I can never succeed at video gaming, despite the fact that I was awesome as a kid. It make me feel old. So what I am wanting to know to help is:
1.) How do I efficiently improve my skills in first person shooters, RPGs, action/adventure, sports, and strategy games (both real-time and turn-based)?
2.) I have heard that, in MMORPG's especially, many people use macros to help them advance without investing so much time. In the past, this has frustrated me. Any insight into this?
3.) Can you use an external hard drive with Xbox 360 and Wii through the USB port? I'm finding that the new 120 GB hard drive for X360 is pricy, and I would appreciate if Wii had a hard drive.I am on a quest for self-improvement. How can I efficiently become a better gamer? If video game is part of your "self-improvement" list, you need to get a life. Yikes...I am on a quest for self-improvement. How can I efficiently become a better gamer?
1) Practice, practice, practice...its pretty much what you have been told for everything
2)sorry, i dont understand much about macros
3) nope, sorry, it wont work...I am on a quest for self-improvement. How can I efficiently become a better gamer?my friend, you may be a little confused about life, playing silly games will not make you a better person, games are just for pass-time, for fun, self improvement will take work. read your bible, that will improve the person you are.I am on a quest for self-improvement. Hey fellow gamer!
1 - You need to hit the game forums for the game your playing. Here you can find out any tips or tricks that can help you out. Here you may learn about game mods, cheats, or general playing tricks that will increase your skill level. There are usually ways to configure a game for optimum performance through either mods or general game setting changes.
2 - Practice... Practice... Practice... Even if your naturally gifted, which most of us aren't, you need to spend lots of time improving your game. Optimize your game keyboard configuration settings for optimum speed. The changes might slow you down at first, but after much practice with optimum keyboard settings it will work out to your benefit. Try searching for "game_name, configuration, settings"
3 - I hate cheaters and cheating myself, but if your competition is using mods or hacks which increase their performance, you may want to consider using them yourself to level the playing field. Do a google search for the game name with mods or cheats. Example google.com search = "Halo 2, mods, cheats"
4 - Last, but certainly NOT least... HARDWARE!!! If possible, try and make sure you have decent hardware (ie. As much RAM as your PC will hold, decent Video Card, and you need to configure your game to play off of the Hard Drive, instead of the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM Drive). Playing off of the CD-ROM Drive is MUCH slower than playing directly from the hard drive. You can do this by a few different ways...
a) Install the game originally from the hard drive it's self.
b) Search for the "NoCD hack" for the game you play.
c) Configure a "Virtual Drive" on your HD, representing your CD-ROM drive.
Not sure of any other way off hand, hope that helps.
Good Luck!
